The Health Agency

Support Us

There are several ways you can support our work, from making a one-off or regular donation, to a sponsored sporting challenge to a gift in memory of a loved one. Whatever way you feel able to help, whether it be through donating, fundraising, volunteering, or inspiring others to get involved, you will have a direct impact on what we achieve.

Donate

By supporting our work, you can help change the life of someone and improve their physical or mental health. All donations, no matter how big or small, make a difference as they will help us provide counselling sessions, healthy eating workshops for families, or specialist advice and support for those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Give As You Earn (GAYE) is a really easy way to donate to The Health Agency. Each time you are paid, a donation is deducted by your payroll department before tax is calculated. This means that you will not have to pay the income tax normally due to the Inland Revenue. In practice, this means the donation is boosted by at least 25%, so if you choose to give £2.00 a month, The Health Agency will receive £2.50. You can choose how much to give from your salary each payday.

If you would prefer, you can make a one-off donation by clicking the Paypal button below, or you can contact our office 0131 453 9400 or finance@thehealthagency.org.uk to make a bank payment to our account. The bank payment option means we do not pay fees and receive 100% of your donation.

Please also think about regular giving, this can be every month, or once a quarter or once a year, but knowing we have this regular income is a huge help to us. If you would like to know more, please get in touch.

Legacy Giving

A gift in your will to The Health Agency will make a positive impact on our community’s physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. Your gift could help us provide counselling sessions, healthy eating workshops for families, or specialist advice and support for those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

There are 3 main types of fit you can leave us:

  • A residuary gift: This is a percentage of your estate once any gifts have been made to family and friends. This provides supporters with more flexibility when deciding how to ensure that their loved ones are well looked after first and foremost.
  • A pecuniary gift: This is a specified sum of money, but it is worth baring in mind the effects of inflation on this type of gift as it could lose value over years.
  • A specific gift: This is the gift of a specified item – such as a personal possession, land, buildings or stocks and shares.

We always recommend that your will is drafted by a qualified professional such as a solicitor as their businesses are regulated by law. You can search for a solicitor local to you on the Law Society of Scotland’s website.

There are all kinds of creative ways to fundraise, ranging from casino nights to dress down days at school and work, or even a bake sale or auction.

We suggest using JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving to raise funds online. If you want to create a Fundraising Page for your cause you can use the following bespoke fundrasing link. If you’d rather do your fundraising face-to-face, you can contact us for help with a sponsorship form and collect donations yourself.
