The Health Agency is a community-led charity in Wester Hailes, supporting over 2,000 people from South-West Edinburgh each year to lead longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives. We aim to combat the negative effects of deep poverty, inequality, ill-health, mental health issues, food insecurity and social isolation experienced by our community.
Our services and groups provide accessible information and advice, alongside practical and emotional support.
Our approach empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing, while building a stronger, more connected community.

Our Principles
Holistic Approach
The Agency recognises that real health improvement can best be achieved through a holistic approach. This acknowledges that individual well-being depends on physical, emotional, social and environmental factors.
Working in Partnership
The Agency acknowledges the importance of working collaboratively with voluntary and statutory services to ensure the awareness of health issues is integral to their activities.
Community Development
The Agency adopts an approach that is consistent with the principles of community development in terms of empowering people, both - individually and collectively, to identify and address the issues that confront their lives.
