Positive Moves is The Health Agency’s physical activity service. Getting active doesn’t have to feel daunting. We’re here to help you move in a way that’s safe, welcoming and fun, at whatever pace feels right for you. Alongside movement, we’re here with practical information on nutrition and living with diabetes to help you make choices that support a healthier life.
Would you like to feel more flexible, improve your mobility and build your strength? Or perhaps you’re looking to gain the confidence to get out and about in your local community and would like some company – our Positive Moves service can support you every step of the way.
Supported Gym Sessions
We’ll help you build a routine you can stick with, show you how to use equipment safely and support you towards your own goals, whether that’s moving more easily, building strength or just feeling fitter.
Gentle Exercise Classes
If the gym isn’t for you, our gentle exercise classes – including
chair-based activity, offer a friendly, accessible way to keep moving and build confidence alongside others.
Walking Groups
If you’d rather be outdoors, our walking groups are a relaxed, social way to get moving, with beginner-friendly routes our walk leaders can keep you motivated and support you to progress at your own pace.
Advice & Workshops
In the past we have delivered a number of workshops including living with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes. No dates scheduled at the moment.
