Cancer Support Worker
I started my new role in July 2021. I had previously been employed by another cancer support service and was aware of the challenges and impact that a cancer diagnosis and/or long-term condition can have upon individuals, carers and the wider family. I am also a practicing holistic therapist and very passionate about the links between physical, emotional, and mental health. I think it’s fantastic that the Health Agency and Westerhaven offer such a diverse range of holistic services that recognise and support the whole person with health and wellness. In addition to my complementary therapy background, I hold a Degree in Criminology and Psychology. I have many years of experience working within the voluntary sector in areas of mental health and addiction, addressing health and social inequalities. Outside of work I love walking and fitness, which includes climbing Munros, even though I don’t particularly like heights! I love music festivals and gigs and enjoy jumping on a plane to combine a city break with music if I get the chance. I also enjoy spending time with family, friends and my 2 cats (or any animal).
