Carer’s Group

Groupwork

Our Carers’ Group meets every Monday to offer advice, support, friendship, and mutual support from Carers. The group is open to anyone aged 16 and over in South West Edinburgh.

A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, frailty, a mental health problem, or an addiction cannot cope without their support.  Caring can be a rewarding and positive experience for many, but it can also be a stressful and isolating experience. A carer does not need to be living with the person they care for and can be any age, from young children to older people.

Our Women’s Group is open to any woman aged 16 and over in South West Edinburgh who would like to meet others in a supportive group environment, take part in a variety of activities, get some support and information around mental and physical wellbeing, and have some fun.

Previous group activities have included:

  • Jewellery making
  • Pilates
  • Salsa dancing
  • Relaxation
  • Health talks
  • Cardmaking
  • Trips out
  • Healthy cooking
  • Support sessions

These groups are operating on a waiting list.  To find out more about these groups and others we may be running, such as Anger Management,  Men’s Wellbeing and SleepWell, click the Access or refer to our services button.
